More austere and reserved then my last bottle with some black fruit and cherry-pit bitterness on the finish. Started to come around the following day with more fruit aromas and more fruit on the palate.
Drank over three days. Best on day one. Cedar. Dark cherry. Chocolate. Vanilla. Still surprisingly tannic. 2005 bdx just won't calm down. I would have guessed this was a napa cab except without the heat.
Wonderful aromatics on opening, and then it devolved into the wine I remembered. Some red fruits especially cassis, but becomes muddled with noticeable tannins as it opened. As said before, not sure the fruit will outlast the tannins.
