Last minute wine lunch (Gary's): Drank about 1/6th the bottle over 1 hour. This is consistent with my experineces of a good bottle of vintage Pol Roger brut. Citrus, apple,l pear, toasty, powerful, good energy and lift. I'm happy to have 3 left.

Wine Lunch (Gary's Place, Hudson, WI): Light gold color. Drank a glass over 40 minutes. This was quite reminescent of a bottle from magnum a year ago. Lovely toast, almond, roasted filberts, golden apple, ripe, lemon, chalk, and subtle red frut. Broad and vinous 93+ to 94pts.

Rich and deeply satisfying, this is now in its maturity but showing no signs of flagging. Doughy biscuity aromatics, with ripe fruits (apricots and just an impression of banana), a bit of salinity and a refreshing cut. Lingers long in the mouth. Very nice indeed.

Continues to drink well with notes of apple, pear, citrus with hint of minerals. Paired with caviar.
