This is tough to nail down, but fun to guess at the composition. I call Grenache and Zinfandel. Perhaps a splash of Syrah?, a touch of Malbec maybe? Definitely California, but certainly from numerous areas. Maybe even more than one vintage. Phinney backed off the oak on this one and overall is a bit more restrained in style, at least for Phinney's standards. Whatever it is, this is a crowd pleaser. It's drinking well now, but will be interesting to see how this develops in years to come.
