PnV let air in the glass for 1hr. Deep dense purple almost saturated slightly bricked to clear at the rim. Smoky cassis espresso sage and anise in the nose. Medium(+) with ripe yet grippy tannins. Ripe black currant fig blackberry espresso dark chocolate with a touch of green herbs and tobacco on the palate. Lingering cedar box and fig. Has lost some freshness. Will be drinking up the last few bottles this year.
Very nice entry level Bordeaux. Nicely balanced. Opened it up as a small pot-luck party, byob was winding down, and each person who was served spontaneously remarked about how good the wine. Gotta love Bordeaux from a good vintage. No sign of fading, but I see no reason to hold.
