Needed some time to breathe. Early hints of barnyard and tin. Mellowed out after 1 hour and is quite delicious. Dark red, tasted medium to full bodies with smooth notes of berry and plum.

WSET Diploma Practice Tasting - Guess the Region (London): The wine is clear and deep ruby in colour. The nose is clear with medium (+) intensity aromas of red fruit (red cherry, strawberry), hint of black fruit (black cherry), spice (liquorice), oak (vanilla, cedar, toast, smoke). The wine is youthful. The palate is dry with medium (+) acidity, high ripe tannins, medium (+) alcohol, full body, with medium (+) intensity flavours of red cherry strawberry, vanilla, toast, smoke. The finish is medium (+). The wine is very good in quality. It has concentration of fruit that is sufficient to balance the tannins and the acidity. It has some primary and secondary complexity and has a decent length finish. It has good typicity of a crianza rioja - oak ageing, red fruit profile. It lacks complexity and concentration to be outstanding. The wine can be drunk now but is suitable for further ageing - it is likely to develop some tertiary characteristics with time and has the concentration and structure (acid and tannins) to allow this to happen.

By the glass at Collage restaurant in Raddison Blu. Bold nose of red fruit and spices, very extracted red fruit on the palate, oak too, and graphite; very juicy and fruit forward. Paired with filet.

Much better than many gran reservas imho. Nice acidity, nice length. Lacks complexity for an even better rating.
