Sams was promoting this wine and it appeared attractive at the price if it compared well with other NZ Pinot Noirs we have had. It was quite nice, best showing on the nose with some light floral notes. Initial taste was cherry, but it was a little green and finished on a rather grassy unripe note, so I was a bit disappointed.
Balanced cherries and black pepper/spice. Light in the mouth and well balanced. Simple wine, but the flavors and structure of the wine are so well balanced, especially for a pinot at this price (and matched with tequila-lime marinated pork chops on the grill), that it was a joy to drink.
