Very nice tight bubbles. On the nose there are rose petals, violet, hints of peach and a touch of pastry. At first the wine was a bit closed with muted raspberry, cherry, mineral and pear. After having the bottle open for one hour there were stronger flavors of strawberry and powdered sugar.
Well made, for what it is, but not my style. Picked up the sulphur notes on the nose that Wine Canuck mentioned in his note, and some indistinct fruit. The palate is an odd mix of sweet (predominantly strawberry notes and the high dosage), sour (red apple) and bitter (apricot). Despite what others have said, the acidity is quite good, but it's negated by the almost cloying sweetness.
Strawberry and apple, some sweetness. Not a lot of acidity or yeast. Very good for the price and perfect for bringing in the New Year at a casual party with friends who enjoyed the bottle but aren't particularly into wine.
