  cheers - I agree with a previous note that this wine is too young (he said wait a day after you uncork it). I prefer the "reserve" of this Chianti, which is a bit more smooth and complex, and only costs 5.99 instead of 4.99. The "reserve" is one of my top 3 wines under $7.

  Like previous releases, this is quite a bit of red wine for $4.99 at our Trader Joe's. Though not exactly a superb Chianti, it is relatively authentic and basically correct in aromas and flavors. The color is almost textbook Chianti. It is a little weak in the in the fruit department, but by no means deficient. There are a couple of "off" industrial flavors that deter it from gaining a highr score. The finish is a soft red raspberry and strawberry that is surprisingly lingering. Definitely benefited from an overnight with the cork out.
