  • Stood up for a week then decanted off fine sediment for one hour, then back into bottle. Opened with friends and was paying more attention to company than the wine. So no notes. Remember this being initially tart and took about the second hour to harmonize. Nice red berry flavors with a bit of bubblegum. Flavors began to harmonize with more air. Medium body. Don't remember if this had any pinot-like flavors. Still delicious and a hit with other folks. No rating bc my memory on this was not so great on the details.

  • I drink a lot more of the Cote du Py than the Corcelette, so it's hard to avoid a direct comparison. In that sense, this is much more fruit forward, but not in a way that takes it out of balance. A really broad spectrum of red fruits, sweet baking spice, bits of dried orange peel and a slight touch of earthiness. This drinks much "cleaner" and doesn't have the funkiness that I expect from the Cote du Py. The tannins are smooth and fully integrated, with bright acidity keeping it lively... everything that I look for in a Cru Beaujolais. A decade out, the 2014's are really proving to be a classic vintage and probably the best since '09. The worst thing I can probably say about this is that it's probably missing that extra gear of complexity that I get from the Cote du Py, but this is a fantastic wine for the $35 or so that I paid for it.

  • Absolutely stunning. It has the characteristic Foillard Morgon fruit (cherries, berries) but the age has brought some more savory and forest floor stuff to the party. Great acid and minerality, zero flaws. Sad I don't have more.

  • Nose of overflowing fruit sprinkled with spices. It reminded me of some Barolos.

In the mouth, the serving temperature is crucial. Served a little too cold, the acidity stands out clearly on the finish, causing an imbalance with an ample and fruity juice. At the right temperature, we have a wine with great maturity, full of fruit and earthy notes. The juice is juicy, almost sanguine. Nice balance on a trace and integrated acidity. Very interesting finish between spice and wet stone.

    Very good

  • Excellent again, lovely textured character of fruit and earth, elegant, graceful palate with fine definition and balance.

Alone and with mushroom/goat cheese tart, perfect.
