  • This bottle was at peak and perfectly sound (following a premox bottle about a month ago). So much going on with fruit, mineral and match stick.

  • Single blind. A wow nose with sexy, intense reduction that is well-melded to the rich, spicy orchard fruit. Delicious on the palate with richness, decadence, creaminess and mineral brightness all at once. My #1/4.

  • Meursault (Southside) 1er Cru vs Village, Mostly Blind (Hughes House - Chicago IL): I thought this Boillot 2014, but thought Genevrières. Rich nose, leaner palate coming across as charmingly balanced and brightly textured. Very good weight and length as well with sneaky power and finesse on finish. Good now, with upside.

  • Nice nose! I got the PYCM vibes. Green against yellow apple, delicious well-integrated oak notes. Very elegant. Unfortunately, does not follow up in the mouth. More generic white Burgundy; lemon, stone, minerality. Less elegant, less complex than the nose and simply short.

Day 2, this one has also put on some weight both on nose and taste since yesterday. Significantly different from yesterday. Playful light and delicious nose yesterday, which leaned most towards green apple, while today more towards yellow apple, round oak, hint of honey. The wine has by no means been inferior. On the contrary, especially the mouth has got more depth. Lacks the aftertaste to make this a great wine. Striking how much this has moved since last night. Qpr then this, along with D'Angerville Meursault Santenots ‘17, is the best bargain in my book.

    90-91

  • This was firing on all cylinders. Sure, it's young, but so darn delicious now. Rich orchard fruit, toasted nuts and spice. Terrific concentration of ripe fruit with racy acidity to keep the wine chiseled and balanced.
