Fathers' Gathering (Q by Peter Chang - Bethesda, Maryland): Beautiful nose displaying generous perfectly ripe pure yellow and white fruit, lemon curd, apple, a hint of pineapple, luxurious oak/vanilla, smoke, spearmint, sweet spices and limestone. Excellent concentration, very finely layered pure yellow and white fruit, beautiful balance and detail, elegant yet energetic, bright acidity, strong mineral, and a long pure yellow and white fruit driven finish with a hint of pine needles at the end. This is drinking incredibly well.

Intense citrus, lemon curd, tangerine oil. Wine slightly viscous and penetrating. Medium acidity, layers of structure, and long finish. Drink well now, and still have plenty of cellar potential ahead.

Mostly CDP dinner (The Capital Grille at Tysons corner, VA): Beautiful light gold. Expressive nose displaying ripe yellow fruit, lemon curd, peach, a hint of pineapple, honey, vanilla/oak, a hint of butterscotch, sweet spices and limestone. Beautifully integrated palate, nicely layered yellow fruit, good harmony and balance, bright acidity, good mineral expression, and a long ripe yellow fruit driven finish with sweet spices and vanilla at the end. This has evolved faster than I anticipated, which is not a bad thing. This gives a very modern impression with noticeable oak. Really delicious for my palate. I need to revisit another bottle soon.
