  • Had some meaty reduction that dissipated with a vigorous decant. It is a very savoury wine with notes of tar, blood, cured ham and black olive. There is a core of sweet black cherry fruit and the palate is dense and intense but beautifully proportioned and balanced. There's a bright minerally lick to the finish. A great all-round wine with food.

  • Very dark, very tannic, full of dark fruits and a pleasure to drink.

  • Ripe and deep for the vintage with predominantly blackberry fruit and a rustic edge of pete and brine. Surprisingly reminiscent of the '09 I tasted at Accomasso's house about a year ago, this 2010 has a decidedly dark profile verging on the edge of prune. While would prefer a bit more red fruit and clarity (a la B. Mascarello), this retains lovely balance and is an undeniably classic wine. Nearly impossible to find, this is for those who really have a passion for traditional Piedmont and the unsung characters of this magical place.
