  It took a couple of swirls to volatilise some unwelcome aromas I don't care to describe, before this one settled down into a pretty decent California Syrah. Rich purple color. We have to coax out the aromas which first is alcohol, but then some black cherry and even some mild rose. Not a blockbuster, or terribly fruit forward, and just more than medium bodied. The adequate, but not extraordinary mid palate gives it some credibility with blueberry and plum. Balanced enough we can't discern the alcohol, tannins and acid all that much. The lingering blue fruit finish is also a plus. This one, if you give it a chance sneaks up on you.

  Great QPR. Very fruit-forward and slightly soft, just a pleasant drinker.
