My first experience of a Patz & Hall Pinot Noir, and pleased to say that the experience was a good one ! At 10yo, this wine is in great condition. Excellent quality branded cork closure and very good level. The aroma was bright and full fruited, showing dark cherry and hints of strawberry, with a deft oak complexity all inviting one into the glass. While the a/v at 14% is on the higher side by Australian and French standards, the richness of this wine carried it well. The palate was seamless and velvety in mouthfeel and the palate long tasting and quite delicious. Whilst unfamiliar with this maker and the ageing potential of the Pisoni vineyard wines, I'd be drinking more of these, without any rush, over the next 5 years, if indeed I had any. Sadly it was a single bottle gift, but I do have a Gap's Crown Vineyard 2013 still to try. :-)

Framed by soft and round tannins and a structured acidity, the flavors of ripe black cherry, tangy blackberry and wild herbs have only intensified with time. Amazingly inviting aromas of rounded red cherry, wet slate, loam, vanilla, cracked pepper and dried herb show on the intense nose of this classic single-vineyard expression.

Delicious wine. Notes of cherry, blackberry, vanilla, herbs. Lengthy finish. Delicious on its own and with the herbal roasted rack of lamb.
