Should have drank earlier. Very refined and finished but lacking some boldness. Can really taste the Larner soil - in a good way. Lots of sand, silt, limestone, chalk.

A little bold and brash on the surface before aeration unveiled the full picture. Pitch dark purple color, 90% opaque with slow, clear legs and a baby spoonful of sediment in the bottle. A seductive pie of black and blue berry, white flowers, vanilla, and sweet spice aromas. A big, 15% body that the palate handles with ease. The bouquet leaves me thinking a few more years will benefit the overall breadth and depth, but it has proven to be impossible for me to resist the temptation of enjoying these young. 5+12+17+8= 92

Shared bottle at poker night so only cursory notes, but this garnered the most favorable comments from the crowd in a lineup of WA, Sonoma, and Paso Syrah's. Lots o' fruit with a good mineral backbone and soft, smooth tannins. Shooting from the hip, 92 or 93 pts.

PNP. Consistently good, fruit forward Syrah. Big wine, but in balance.
