It's carrying along very well for what it is but what it is is not all that thrilling beyond enjoying an old wine that's not near the cusp of death. Mixed bag.

  Nose of blackberry, black cherry and allspice, more of the same on the palate, tasty, medium/big body, mouth filling fruit, a little tired but enjoyable, time to drink up, and a long finish.

  Opened a magnum from my cellar for sharing with a group of wine nuts/friends at Yan's China Bistro.
  Very lovely bright red color in the glass, cork showed only one half of one inch wine saturation, bought on release at Duckhorn Winery and carried home with other release wines. Nose of blackberry and dark cherry with hints of spice, more of the same on the palate, great tasting merlot fruit, medium/long finish. Bottle was consumed first at the table versus the other eight wines which were already opened and poured before I arrived.

  Bright cherry, some earth and wood. Lean texture. Drinking nicely. Jeannine liked more than I did....
