It started off very thin and metallic, like copper soaking in water. It very quickly unfolded and had beautiful dark fruit, a rubber element with mild funk, and nice spice. Really aromatic, too. This was complex. Still fruit forward, but at this age, all the other layers showed through beautifully.

Started off a little disappointing. Side by side a 1991 Sinskey Carneros Pinot. Really started opening up. Light, delicious red fruit with lots of earthiness and complexity. Seemed to improve with air. A spectacular wine considering its age.

This is a very good wine- unfortunately this is not a very good bottle. A Winebid purchase (after loving a bottle a couple years ago), cork was totally saturated and wine was madeirized. NR

Popped and poured in a flight of mature burgundies. Took best of flight, with a nose of asian spices and mature fruit, coupled with a perfectly balanced and riich mouthfeel. Long finish.
