  • Very dark red/black. Oak, baked beans and dark fruit. Monolithic. Nice dark fruit flavours and a long tannic finish. Needs another decade maybe. A lot like the Lamaione or Falesco Montiano. Huge but not my style.

  • Fra Frescobaldi`s hjemmeside;
    Color: Intense steel like concentrated ruby red with voliet
    reflections. Aroma: Bouquet of fruits of the forrest, in
    particular blackberry giving a unique scent with a lingering
    enhancement of leather and tobacco. Taste: The palate
    experiences a envoloping of the mouth with good
    consistency and a persistent lingering finish.
    SERVING SUGGESTIONS Terrific patner with any
    long-cooked meat dish, such as marinades, pot roasts,
    and stews. Delicious with aged cheeses.

  • Very youthful appearance with an opaque ruby core, pale narrow ruby rim. Initially closed on the nose then ripe red cherry fruit, slight sour edge, hints of chocolate and vanilla. Nose also still quite youthful in fact, just signs of some earthy development. Medium/full bodied on the palate, this has impressive depth and length and is rich and generous but well balanced with vibrant acidity which carries a long finish which does however show some slightly grainy tannins. Still, an excellent, well balanced wine with intense, attractive if not particularly complex fruit, at least at this stage. My last bottle, but difficult to call how this will develop from here, I would be slightly worried about those tannins.

  • this was gorgeous cabernet - lovely ripe blackcurrant and blackberry on the nose. Complex, hints of earth, green herbs. Smells old world, but does not much of that Italian thing going on (slightly chemically smell), but not Bordeaux either (not earthy enough). Smooth and ripe on the palate, the tannins are still there but pretty well integrated, there is some nice acidity, but this is a well balanced wine, nicely sweet with blackcurrant, black plum and cherry fruit. Good strong cabernet flavour, but overall there is a lovely sense of balance which makes this feel medium bodied. Really excellent juice.
