Difficult wine, second bottle wasn't that good any more. Hazelnuts and butter and toffee and aging notes... Maybe bottles in the U.S. have more stamina, after the journey and the years this lot is going down.
Bought in a wine auction from a good cellar recently.

Somewhere between juice and marmelade, one could say.
I say: ultracomplex, balanced and quite elegant. Dryed apricots, nuts, oaky nuances, butter, toast, "quitte", fruit juices and cooked fruits. But the acid(balance) is lacking. The sweetness has no counterpart any more, what a loss. 86-87, maybe the next bottle rocks, hopefully.

Surprisingly, this wine held in, given that it's eight years old, and not all that great to begin with. The nose is full of tropical fruit and floral scents. Sugar is just too high for me.
