This has aged well! Fleshy, balanced, perfectly sweet, its just a well rounded lovely wine. Glad to see that this has burned off the heavy oak and char from my first contact with it years ago...Only complaint is that it is a bit plummy and fleshy. I dont think its going to hold much longer. I say Drink!

This bottle seemed to show a bit less modern than prior bottles, which showed very Bordeaux but quite polished and a little big. This bottle showed fruit that didn't dominate , some more mature notes and tannins that were present but not dominant.

Initially I got a mix of red and black fruit, but it was a bit flat and quite woody. I made a mental note to hold my remaining bottles until some tertiary notes begin to appear. Three hours later it started to open up and I got primarily black fruit with anise and floral notes. As with other 2005s, this wine probably needs more time to show its best.

Served in my wine course. Nice tertiary development in the nose, which includes plum and tobacco and still a good bit of oak influence. Medium weight, relatively low acid, but quite nice.
