    Excellent.

  • Still very young and tannic but impressive nonetheless. Deep crimson red color. Decanted for about an hour before enjoying at Wing Lei in Las Vegas. Massive structure, dark brambly fruit and still showing quite a bit of oak. The palate was silky yet firm at the same time. Long and impressive finish. Should be at its peak in 5-10 more years and drink well for 20.

  • Decanted for 1 hour. Fantastic medium + nose of tobacco, leather, smoke, cassis, dark plum, blackcurrant. On the palate, it at first appears open for business with a super smooth, weightless quality but there's still a tight kernel of ripe fruit (which I find somewhat consistent in 05s) which needs to unwind. The tannin still needs to soften and integrate more also. Ok to drink now but I'd hold for another 5 years If I had another one. Excellent.

  • Popped and poured a small glass, then decanted the rest of the bottle and drank over course of the evening and into the next day. Upon opening the nose was not giving up much. Coaxing over the next hour brought forth notes of dark fruits, damp earth, and fresh cracked peppers. On the palate, earthiness, undergrowth and mushrooms notes are apparent, followed by fresh cracked peppers and a stony salinity on the finish. Despite the tight tannins upon opening, the wine is well balanced and has lifts, evolving in the glass with humus, dark berries, white peppers and hints of legumes, and always followed by a sweet stony salinity finish. There’s plenty left in the tank, as this wine still has room to mellow out its tannins. Another 5 or so years in the bottle would improve it.

  • Now the wine started to make fun, for the next bottle I will wait another five years. Everything is well integrated, nice fruit, nothing what disturbs.
