Wow - the nose hits you as soon as the cork is out of the bottle. Raspberry, leather, mushrooms, cocoa, and just the right amount of "garden shed". Pinch of sediment, deep red in color. Palate is plum, blueberry, chocolate and baking spice. This is firing on all cylinders and is barely out of the bottle! It only got better after a few hours of decanting. Quite enjoyable.

Incredible bouquet of ripe blackberries, raspberries, exotic spices, raspberry jam, mint. Silky, elegant palate with dark berries, fantastic tannins, sweet, cashmere-like, leading to a long finish, spicy, with a nice bitter, dark chocolate note, slightly salty, a bit of soy, yet also more raspberry jam. Improved on second night. Still more upside but great to drink.

This is a big, ripe and rich vintage for La Conseillante with great depth of dark berry fruit and a polished, velvety texture. The finish still shows plenty of tannin and there is a classic tautness at the end. This is showing itself quite well but begs for further aging at least out of magnum. 93+

Pop and pour. Aerate in the glass. Medium garnet with brick edge. At uncorking, we notices earth, wet rock, menthol, iodine, swampy notes (in a good way), and smoke, However, these aroma fades really quickly, and it became a smooth, elegant, medium-bodied wine, with mainly primary aroma. Still good, but a little linear to me.

Having had some very ordinary Bordeaux reds at extraordinary prices, this has restored my faith a little. Decanted for an hour, this has a lovely aroma of autumn fruits and is one of those wines you could happily sniff for minutes at an end. On the palate it is developing some lovely complexity after the one dimensional experience of 3-4 years ago and is now very delicious. I'm not good enough to describe every flavour profile, but there are plenty of them all wrapped in a satin smooth finish. Top stuff.

(Château La Conseillante) Medium red violet color; sexy berry, boysenberry, plum and caramel nose; great, young yet, but deep berry palate with sweet tannins; long finish 95+ pts. (85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc)
