Quite pale and more evolved than I anticipated before pulling the cork, a light citrus note on the nose and a gentle elegant palate with rounded tannins, quite an understated wine that many guests really enjoyed for its finesse but not as full on as anticipated, drink now, not for keeping.

Purchased in 2008 and kept at 53F ever since. Drinking as a mature Pomerol should, this wine took all of 2 hours to really open up and seems fully matured and ready to roll. Doubt enough fruit to keep it going much longer but should be okay through 2021 at least, unless you really Iike more reductive or turned flavors in your bordeaux. Tannins still present but nearly completely resolved. Finish not particularly long but this is still a good solid wine. I drank about half the bottle, other half drunk tonight as well but not by me. Opened for my birthday weekend.
On my actual birthday I had about 1/3 bottle of an Italian merlot that was about $40; this wine outclassed it easily.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure time has been kind to this wine. After enjoying the first bottle two years ago, it wasn't as enjoyable this time around. It was an amber colour with fast legs and heavy sediment. It had notes of dust, stoniness and forest floor. It tasted of plum, fig, black currant with over notes of burnt toast and stoniness. It has a medium body with an oily texture. The finish was long with high acidity. Hopefully, those with cellared bottles will have more luck than me on their next one.

Opened an hour before consuming. Paired perfectly with our bison filets. Ready to drink, and, suspect there's a good bit of life left in it
