nose of pineapple and apricot, alcoholic with notes of acetone, a little bit metallic. Very ripe and sweet on the palate as expected, with a hint of acidity on the finish.

Nose: honey, red date Notes: Kongsgaard's whites has long been hailed as the Batard Montrachet of Napa, over the years they have been producing excellent white with power and elegance. This 2004 was an interesting one because if you blind taste me on this I would probably guess its a Chateauneuf-du-Pape white (actually that is probably not a compliment). The wine is quite complex and with multiple layers of taste, quite full bodied but I guess it's a lot better than a CNDP white in the sense that it's not very filling. I can happily do a vertical Kongsgaard but don't think I can stomach a vertical Beaucastel VV. This is the 2nd or 3rd bottle in the same batch so I believe this is not related to bottle variation plus the condition was pristine. While old Burgundy whites face very high risks of premox I do feel that Kongsgaard can be a suitable replacement. Nevertheless I do not think this wine has too many years left to it's drinking window and one should drink up as soon as they can Drink: now - 2026 Rating: 91

Slightly oxidized. It showed some baked apple, caramel, and canefruit . Rich on the palate but missing the acidity.

Drink up. On the knife edge of going over the cliff. My last two bottles last night were great. PnP.
