Beautiful color, fruity and pleasant nose, ripe berry fruit and cherry cola finish, elegant finish and texture. Paired w/ Copper River salmon, wild rice, and grilled asparagus. Another great "Rochioli" experience!
How do you decide between 93 or 94 points? It's up there anyway IMHO. Really pretty cerise color. My impression was more red cherries and raspberries while some notes include black cherries or plum. It wasn't until the third glass that I was struck by a nice spicy note--more cinnamon or nutmeg than pepper. This is settling into a really nice drinking window compared to the 2008 Alysian Wines Rochioli Riverblock Pinot Noir I opened four days ago that was still tasting quite young (nice for its freshness and vibrancy and hinting at more to be discovered but not fully there yet.) I would love to have more of this wine but that was my only bottle.
