This bottle was limpid ruby and displayed very typical OR Pinot aromatics of black cherries and herbs. The palate had sweet, almost confected fruitiness, and a somewhat glossy texture. The flavors are certainly relaxed, but aren't showing much in the way of maturity. And with the tannins all but resolved, I don't know if I would hope for much more complexity down the road.

Dark red color with some smoky tints at the rim, light transparency. Nose offers up black raspberry, black cherry, raspberry, and some herbal/black truffle elements. Palate is day and night in contrast to the St. Innocent - dark, black fruited, no notes of brown sugar; I wouldn't call this as a 2004 for lack of the signature. Gulp. Gulp. Glug. Swirl. Blackberry, pomegranate, black cherry, some tea notes lurking, maybe fennel. So much poking in and out on the framework here. With time, some tannins show up, but this is really lovely. Wine of the week. So far. Kudos to Russ on this one. Fantastic.

Post IPNC blind 2004 Oregon Pinot Noir tasting (Matello): The nose shows spiced cherries, vanilla, baking spice and cola. Smells good. The palate is initially very fruity, somewhat candied. Liquefied red vine candy, strawberry and cola shows on the palate as well as some richness brought on by age. Rounded, sweet tannins show in the finish. 88+

popped and pured. Color dark ruby with light edges. Nose dark cherry, eucalyptus, and mild toast - reminiscent of good mazis chambertin. On palate this is all here, with beautiful dense cherry fruit nicely framed with unobstrusive barrel and grape tannins. length is medium long with continued balance. very nice burgundian styled oregon pinot.
