Records not handy. Bought at least one 12b case for well under 20/b 17-18 years ago, likely from Sam's or Binny's; this is well into the case. Solid cork. Decanted with normal sediment for its age. Dark purple; fragrant mature redcurrant nose, hint of oak, that follow on the rich palate, good mouthfeel. More than tasty, semi-complex, glad to have more. We've enjoyed several vintages of this Castillon chateau--a reliable everyday+ Right Bank Bdx. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: For me, scores on a "100-point scale" are misleading. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. This is notable+ when considering quality, age, and price.

Dense purple garnet. Brambly, berry nose, and hard as nails even at 12 years old, or maybe just not very ripe. Either way, after 2 days actually gained some pleasing fruit, mostly tart plum and blackberry. Still plenty of tannins, I enjoyed this leftover wine with leftover roast round more than earlier.

Way past its prime; subdued fruit and bland tannins

Some unripe green notes. Losing it's fruit, this should not be in anyone's cellar for too long anymore.

My first bottle of six, won at an auction. Good but not great. Lacking some fruit? Nively evolved bordeaux. Will check another bottle out very soon.
