Magic from magnum. I finally gave up trying to find an occasion, and just opened the thing. What a beautiful wine. Bright, fresh red raspberry fruit, accented by a bramble, earth and herb background on the nose, it’s just as fresh on the palate. I would never, ever guess this was seven year old Trousseau. Just fabulous.

This bottle showed a more mature version of this wine vs. our previous bottle on 1/1/19. Allowed to slo-ox for about 30 minutes with a bit of a chill. The color was a clear bright medium red. Aromas of bright red fruits (strawberry!), a touch of earth, and some light funk that blew off. The medium bodied palate showed lots of strawberry, some minerality, a streak of citrus, and nicely balancing acidity. Given the evolution of this wine in the last 2 1/2 years, I would suggest drinking up within the next couple of years.
Tasted over 3 hrs -semi-translucent light-med red -red fruit rhubarb-y wet stone overall less expressive than some vintages -med acidity peeks in late, med- weight crisp vaguely candied red fruit bitter mineral streak fades into the finish with med- tannins -this bottle is less complex but a bit more complete than some prior vintages, drinking well now

Really superb surprise. Not tired at all - probably at peak, and perfect drinking now. Super savoury, lovely mix of complexity and drinkability!

Not declining. Tannins tamed, but barely. I think this wine needed five years before its prime. Drank chilled. 13%
