Bresse Chicken at Le Bistro de L’Hôtel (Beaune): After some funky reduction blew off, a powdery, rich bouquet of lemon and grapefruit citrus with gentle spices, pear, meadow flowers and stony minerals. Also, a lick of vanillin, toasty oak, but just in the background. "A very, complete, balanced, poised wine", as Andrew said. Opulent, powerful, but held in alignment and proportion by vivid, precise acids. Beautiful with the Bresse. Classy. Ideally, give it three or four more years.

Aroma of blossom, yellow fruits, grass, wet stone. Flavor intensity is simple. Need more acidity.

Stoney, chalky, soft and elegant, if somewhat unbalanced, underripe and lean here. 91-92

Bottles drunk with lunch or dinner while in Burgundy; 2/10/2020-2/14/2020 (Burgundy): This is pretty reduced so it needed to be decanted. Last glass was definitely the most pure. Terrific richness and minerality throughout with zippy acidity. 2014s are made for the long haul, and this is no exception. Better in 5+ years.

Reductive, flinty. Mineral, opens up with bright fruits and fuller body, offering more concentration. This wine has great future, no doubts.
