  • Medium plus red color with a 5mm bricked edge. PNP, drank a couple glasses over 2 hours plus and a glass the following night. Its been 5 years since my last bottle when I said this has years left. Well, in a word: Stunning. This looks to be at peak now, though it was even better the following evening. Sensuously perfumed nose of blissful dried forest floor, potpourri, saddle leather, red berries, awesome baking spices, cinnamon, menthol, and hints of darker berries. The palate is lithe and feminine, sleek and so well balanced, the tannins are integrated and polished, there's so much dried earth and evocative spice notes mixed with red raspberry, strawberry and deeper black raspberry fruits, red cherry and leather. Geez, this has fantastic lift and everything has fallen into place. Great bottle. All of 95pts and maybe more.

  • Rich and ripe black and red berries on nose and palate with slightly sweet spice notes. A bit of new oak still seems pronounced, but there is very good weight and substance here that hold this all together very nicely. Still very fresh.

  • On Lopez. Dark ruby. Served too cold but as the wine warmed up it released scents of damp cellar, floral notes, raspberry, earth. Fresh and concentrated on the palate with layers of black raspberry, Bing cherry, iodine, tea leaves, and fine stone. Brilliantly acidic, balancing firm but smoothed tannin. Longer finish of dark fruit and bits of iron. Just as impressive as the bottle consumed 3 months ago.
