  • Fabulous. Young plum and grape scents, purple rim to deep ruby core. Just missing a bit of concentration on the ripe, pure zinfandel flavors. Delicious but lightweight. Drink.

  • This was fantastic. One of the best zins I've ever had.
Took it to the in-laws for 93rd birthday/64th wedding reception (at this age their taste buds respond to big wines). Big, bold, smooth, integrated, nice finish.

  • Typical California Zinfandel. Pitch dark in the glass. Plums, blackberries, oak in the nose. Good s idity, licorice, minerals, plums, black currants, coffee beans, grippy tannins, long, oaky ending. Balanced, fruit forward, powerful, yet enjoyable even by itself. Yummy. Drink now but it might even improve in 2-3 years - not an expert on aged Zin so I will leave to others to comment.

  • Yummmm. We bought this at the winery in 2017. We also walked the Bedrock vineyard in Sonoma Valley that year as well, checking out those gnarly old Zin vines. Mike Officer is good friends with Morgan Twain-Peterson and farms his own rows in the Bedrock old vine vineyard so this is from very old, dry, and organically farmed vines. Very seldom do we consume a wine of this quality without food, but with this I just popped it, gave it a quick decant, and filled glasses. I did pour only a little at a time to facilitate lots of swirling. It's delicious, it's drinking really well right now and has every thing we look for in a Zin: briary, brambly, well-integrated oak, soft tannins. What a pleasure! In my note from 2017, I wrote that it was big and bold, but 5 years has mellowed it out beautifully.
