  • 13 hours slow ox.
    Light reddish brick.
Charred, savoury nose with hints of confection, charcuterie, old leather, exotic floral perfumes.
Lighter end of medium bodied on the palate, good acidity, still some tannin. Rose, strawberries, rosehips, some savoury notes and truffle with a chalky mineralite. Improved as time went on. Lovely.

  • Translucent, pale cherry red color with a developed maroon hue. The nose feels rather oxidative and pungent with aromas of wizened red cherries, some tar, a little bit of soy sauce, light beef jerky tones and a hint of raisiny fruit. The wine is medium-bodied, savory and quite underwhelming on the palate with flavors of smoke, some tar, a little bit of beef jerky, light sour cherry bitterness and a lifted hint of VA. The acidity feels moderately high whereas the tannins are almost nonexistent. The finish is lively, bitter and quite long with flavors of dried cherries, tart dark berries, some sour cherry bitterness, a little bit of smoke-cured beef, light mineral tones and a hint of tar.

A still somewhat drinkable but overall very tertiary Barolo that shows rather dull and dead nose, but which performs somewhat better on the palate. While still drinkable, the wine offers rather little pleasure anymore. Seeing how the wine is already going downhill, I'll leave the wine without a rating. Definitely high time to drink up.
