Needs 2-3 more years, as it took a couple of hours for this wine to find its place. Good, but I had higher expectations, considering the reviews on CT.

Mugneret Gibourg SLAYED 2014. In a vintage I feel has a touch of rusticity around the edges for a most producers (even my beloved Rousseau) - Gibourg has a wonderful clarity
This 2014 Mugneret Gibourg Ruchottes Chambertin is pinnacle Ruchottes. Exudes elegance and purity of sweet purple tinted fruit. Wonderful burst of minerality that gives the palate incredible clarity. As air comes in it starts to interweave layers of spice into the wine that amps up the complexity a few notches

Flower day, kind of a weird bottle, the most closed Mugneret-Gibourg I have tasted so far. Mineral on the palate, gets better the second day, when it evolves into candied red cherry.

Restaurant purchase in Beaune; another bucket list type of wine here; opened for about 30 minutes before sampling; rich and dark on the nose with definite oak spice in the background, loads of plum, black cherry, and violet on the intense and explosive nose. The palate is elegant with a more refined feel than expected from the powerful nose; the fruit gets a bit more red over the evening. First rate concentration and a long spice tinged finish. Excellent stuff. Would love to follow this as it is clearly still in its infancy, however that is unlikely to happen. C'est la vie. I'll be happy to have tried one bottle!

So pure, feminine and expressive with sweet candied red fruit. Ethereal palate.
