Chateau Gazin Vertical with friends (Chez Geoff Skingsley): Clear, ruby, slightly fading to rim, no bricking at all, doesn't look like a 35-year old wine. Clean nose, menthol, eucalyptus, fruits still very positive, cassis. Medium palate, tannins completely softened, still some acid backbone, short-medium to finish. With time, became rather chalky.

Still rich plum-red semi transparent color. Absolutely beautiful plummy velvety nose with an iron filings element and a touch of damp sous bois and dusty wood powder. Palate is light, dusty attics with right fresh understated acidity and meaty notes of hung meat pigeon etc. Light but really elegant mouthfeel.

Ex-Icono. (89/100)

Tight, some coffee, tannins – otherwise: gone
