The early nineties where hard in Barberesco. Angelo Gaja called 1991 a ‘difficult vintage’ and of ‘low quality.’ Didn’t have really any expectations due to the vintage, but this was dead. Whatever little life this wine had left is long gone.

Sexy for its age but a few years late. The mellowing of the super Gaja tannins are the star - after that just subtle traces of bright flower scents and candy. You'll love the velvet - rest, tame.
