Might have been due to bottle variation - this came out slightly flabby and very round. Very classical new world Chardonnay - on the richer/riper side, butterscotch notes as well, but almost an oily texture. This did improve slightly with air, but ultimately didn't feel like it performed at what people say about Aubert chards. Would definitely be open to trying more (and hopefully proven that it was just bottle variation).

Tuesday Night Blind Tasting (Bin 75): Tasted blind. Creamy, tropical, butterscotch, slightly oily, new world Cali Chardonnay. Not my style, but my wife would love it.

Yellow with a gold tint. Lemon, tangerine, pineapple and minerals coming through on the finish. Oak is subtle but there. The complexity continues to build as it warms . Do give it time and don’t drink it too chilled.

Definitely give this some time to open up. First sip at 30 minutes after opening was a little sharp, much much improved after 90 minutes. Would rate this somewhat lower than the Aubert Lauren we had a few nights ago, felt like a pretty different style (or perhaps just the terroir). More flinty than the Lauren.
