This wine has come together and is at a great point in its life. This is perhaps the best Turley PS I have had. Definitely worth the wait. Wine is still big, but it has leaned out, added nuances and tannins/acid have mellowed/integrated.
Very interesting bottle of wine. When I popped the cork, the very first bit in the glass was smooth and well harmonized. After about 10 minutes in the glass, it got kind of fizzy tasting for about half an hour and then settled back down again. Ultimately, tannins were well integrated with herbal notes and mid palate fruit.
Purple in color. The nose has a lot of brett on it somewhere between band-aid and outhouse. Does not blow off over 6 hours. also some black raspberries and pepper. Much better on the palate though. Complex and deep. Black raspberries, layers of earth and a bit merde. Somewhat drying on the finish but that improves with air. I suspect a cleaner bottle would score much higher, but this is still quite good. If you are brett intolerant though, stay away.
