A musky minerality on the nose. Very complex. Toast, freshly baked biscuits and bread, lime, dried herbs, bee wax and some wet slate. The palate showed well aged characters or kerosene, orange peel & kumquat. Very rich with deep layers of flavour and a sour/sweet tartness.

Henschke Heritage tasting with Paul Boothby (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): A straw-like gold colour. The nose starts with a strong matchstick note and a very very concentrated blend of kerosene, lime jubes and apricot kernel. The palette has a very well integrated texture of oily, mouth coating elements with a nice mineral line. Still time for this one.

16?Mid yellow; smokey, Rheingau more than Mosel, almost buttery with a mineral undertone; dry expansive, boroad; good intensity, extended finish. Drink soon. Score 15.
