Wow - this is a surprising wine. Dolcetto grapes are normally used for producing wines to be enjoyed as light, fruity wines 1-2 years after harvest. This particular wine, however is 9 years old - and it is very, very tannic and seems still to be in its youth! The tannins are not exactely soft, but they are accompagned by dark cherries and licorice together with a distinct acidity. It is a great wine from a great producer. I gave 8.30 € for this wine and to that price this is a real bargain.

Well, this one was definitely over the hill and not at all as good as the one I had last year. Dusty and a bit oxidized.
