  • 91-92 Just hitting its stride on my final bottle of three, this is a classy New World Pinot Noir that understands it's not all about pure power.

Enjoyed alongside Naudin's 2017 Savigny les Beaune, interesting comparison.

Immediate classic PN funky barnyardy nose, ripe cherry and dried raspberry. Soaring acid of youth has calmed to med, framing med+ body. Developing notes of decaying rose, tree bark, dried cranberries. Certainly more body and harder to drink in its youth than the Burg, but worth the wait.

  • Another year of evolution since my first bottle in 2018 has proved hugely beneficial. No VA, and effortless integration compared to the last bottle. Move over Malbec, Mendoza has a different story.

Nosel: Creamy oak, probs US, but old and integrated with the raspberry compote.

Pal: Med body hit of 1350m ASL tart smashed raspberry, but a fresh strawberry coulis. High crunchy acid and granite texture med tannins frame well.

Fin: Strawberry, creamy texture of Old oak, leather, but refreshing.

Next bottle in 2020, has the potential to hit 91+.

  • Saw Mendoza on the label, expected a fruit bomb, but this is anything but. Soaring acidity and freshness, subtle oak influence, and potential for 90+ in a few years.

Nose - V fresh green, dried sour cherries, subtle cedar wood, subtle toasty vanilla, quite savoury with rocky undertones.

Palate - Medium-light body, high acid, fresh/bright, green leaves, sour cherry w/ English half-ripe tart raspberry. Cedar box, pine.

Finish - Toasted oak and subtle vanilla notes creep through. Refreshing.

  • Appearance: Clear wine with a pale ruby colour.

Nose: Clean nose with a Medium intensity. This wine is youthful.

Really bright and fruity on the nose with lots of strawberries and cherries. There is a touch of Brett that quickly blows off, revealing streaks of vanilla and a note of wet grass. Interesting and very appealing.

    Palate:
    Dry
    High acidity
    Medium tannins
    Medium+ alcohol
    Medium+ intensity
    Medium body
    Medium finish

As with the nose; bright, fruity and ready to drink. The acidity is soaring but isn't sour in anyway, which should lend itself nicely to food pairing. Light oak influences round off a very solid Pinot Noir.

Excellent quality Pinot Noir from Mendoza, Argentina. Can be drank now but will gain complexity over the next 1-3 years. At 25 euros a bottle, good QPR.
