  • Smooth. Nothing complex. Very easy drink

  • A Syrah that straddles the old and new worlds; can taste the result of the warmer Tuscan climate, but not as fruit forward as an Aussie Shiraz and considerably lighter body and lower ABV. Dark and red fruits with a touch of smoke on the nose. Palate follows through with bramble fruit and cherries (I didn't pick up on the strawberry that others mentioned first - huh), a bit of smoke and some pepper/spice at the end. Medium finish and quite pleasant alone or with food (we had a glass before dinner, and then with Indian food). It picked up a little more depth over the evening, with a few savory/brine notes showing up as well.
