Love Larry's unscrew-n-go wines! They're subtle, not in your face, yet full of passion and expression. The 13 Roussanne is aging into a real beauty! Creamy with almost an oily viscosity...a waxy softness of tropical and pitted fruits...yet lifted freshness of citrus acidity dances with the palate...even becoming a little spicy in the finish. Everything is subtle and in total balance...complexities of bit-o-honey, toasted marshmallow, candied pineapple...savory crushed minerals and lanolin. But what makes this wine, along with the pleasing texture, is the florals! White flowers, honeysuckle, peach blossom...even a little petrol funk to make it interesting! One of the top domestic Roussanne's made imo.

Took out from cellar at about 55 F and poured into a decanter. The wine got more expressive as it sat in my glass. Very waxy, stone fruit, tropical fruit, and white flowers. The weight on this wine is serious and I like it a lot. Paired with curry shrimps.

NOSE: lightly minty school paste; banana leaf; not overtly fruity; slightly buttery; better as it warms to a cool room temperature.
BODY: medium-full bodied; medium maize color.
TASTE: lots of wooly mineral/hay; butter; slightly bitter --- aspirin; slight cotton candy note; low to medium-low acidity; 13.7% alc. just a tad noticeable on the finish; not a re-buy for me, but Ashley loves it.

Good body, good acidity, stone fruit on the palate. Better the first night when it was warmer (typical of Roussanne).
