In a really good place right now. Decanted for a good 45-60 minutes, and it only continued to improve from there. Great nose, and an even better palate, dominated by cherry, raspberry, and chocolate/cocoa notes. Still a ton of life in this, so no hurry to open, but as stated before, it’s drinking quite well right now.

Decanted, three plus hours to the first glass. Cocoa dusted strawberries, wet stones and smoke, cold coffee and cut herbs. Smells great. Brambly dark fruits against earth and gravel on the palate. Still a big wine but it’s now balanced, soft and supple rather than blunt and heavy for heavy sake.

Full and lush, but very well balanced. Paired very nicely with lamb korma and tandoori mixed grill. So far this and the Tempranillo are my favorites from a mixed case of Herman Story library selections.

A California Grenache that is on the fruit forward and bold side of the spectrum. The red fruit has first chair with delightful spice notes. The alcohol and wood are well integrated. Very enjoyable.

as always w Herman Story, tons of blue and black fruit - heat blew off quickly to reveal a slightly jammy but very enjoyable wine
