Oxidized, unfortunately. Deep gold color. My remaining four bottles have varying degrees of darkening, though this seemed to be the worst. Blame the synthetic corks they started using in the mid-2000s (a 2001 we had as a backup, which had a natural cork, was delicious)

Considering this wine cost $8 I shouldn't be too critical, but it is Pepiere and that usually leads to high expectations....This was okay, nothing more. Remarkably unchanged from how it was on release (even with crappy closure). The problem with a wine like this is that while I'm sure it would be better with oysters, since that is a relatively rare treat for me there are other wines I would rather have (Briords for instance...).

Still trying to like muscadet....I don't get it. I don't know how to describe the flavors....wine was fat, rich, vegal and little salty. not what I would call refreshing.

Surprisingly developed, though it's been a few years since I last drank this. The richness of the vintage really shows here. A bit atypical, but very tasty with a pungently brassy minerality and some slightly roasty notes going on (roasted skins?). No rush here, although I'm not sure it will get better for my taste. If I had more I'd probably start to accelerate my consumption.
