Interesting syrah, tastes maore like a cab. Flavours of red currant, blueberry, smoke, tobacco and herbs. Doesn't have great concentration or depth. But has nice texture and nice and eay to drink. Drink now-2011. 86 pts.

Another first timer for CT. Bought 2 of these on release, really knowing nothing about them. TN here is based on about 18 hours of air. Pretty dark, with listed alcohol of 15.5%--given the vintage and the AVA, would guess this to be on target. Not sure how to characterize the nose, as I smell some floral aspects, a sweeter quality, as well as some crushed rocks (which also shows as minerality for me in the wine). Medium bodied, and as much as it spoke blueberry last night, sings a similar note today. Very much like tasting a handful of organic crushed blueberries that come right out of the bag that I buy @ Trader Joe's-- a pure essence of blue fruits. Even more, a darker, earthier note reinforces the blue feel, along with some nice acidity and some richness from the alcohol. The finish shows the minerality/slate type feel, with that close of darkness and a hint of oak. A nice bottle.

Quite tasty blueberry aromas and flavors with a hint of lavender. Good finish and it hides it's ETOH well.
