Very good but monolithic. Decanted an hour enjoyed over 3-4 hours. Concentrated blackberry compote, charcoal, mild tannins, medium sweetness. Still lively. Would expect this to continue to evolve but don’t see much improvement possible.

This is a very dark wine and showed a bit of heat, initially I thought it might be a petite sirah petite verdot. There's a really nice tar component to this one. After a while in the glass the cassis notes begin to evolve. That wasn't getting much blue fruit so I backed off of the PS call.

Bookclub--All Wines Tasted Blind (Foretti's in Corona Del Mar): Served blind next to to the 2013 Outpust True, which just floored me as to how good that wine is showing and what lies ahead for it. So, given that wine was flighted right next to it, and while this Pride was good, it was outclassed by the True. Inky, with far more aromatic ripeness coming through than the True. Concentrated with dark berry and black licorice. This wasn't goopy or oak flushed, but it just wasn't to the superlative degree of the True.

Super good, loved the wine but interestingly it doesn’t come across with a lot of specific flavors for a note. Figured at ~9-10 it was ready for a dinner date w wife while kids all out working, babysitting etc.. Popped maybe an hour before dinner for my wife to have some while I cooked, we both loved it initially. Over dinner, here’s what we came up w. “It’s big” was her first impression; mine was “holy crap this is good”. After a bit, the nose has a strong eucalyptus note, w perhaps a bit of dark chocolate. On the palate, smooth but weighty, with a jolt of dark chocolate cherry liquor on the tip of the tongue. Palate is smooth but dry, no fruit bomb here. Dark chocolate again, maybe dark berries, but nothing stands out except, “damn , I wish I had a case of this.”
