  • {screwcap, 14.5%} Clare, Barossa fruit. Looks about right for ten, with rich bricking garnet. A bit generic South Australian shiraz on the palate with its jam fruit, chocolate oak, mild dusty tannins, lowish acidity. Always very dry though. Seems like it was picked perhaps a bit too ripe because initial freshness has gone but hasn't really been replaced by complexity. Pleasant drink, but a bit paint-by-numbers. Can't see more time helping really.

  • A blend of McV, Clare and Barossa shiraz, this is surprisingly elegant- even classic as the label puts it. Deeply fruited still with intense plum notes. Youthful even. Ripe but not over ripe, no dead fruit. Clear oak influence but nothing like the treatment this wine got back in the day. Pleasant intensity. Overall very enjoyable.

  • Enjoyed it more than I thought I would…Wolfgang rarely disappoints.

The nose was a little underwhelming – even on night 2 – cherry & vanilla, but not in balance. Deep ruby red color with no browning at the rim yet.

The palate? Concentrated juicy cherry, raspberry & wild strawberry flavors @ the core. There are feeble tobacco notes & dusty tannins, - plus a thread of crushed rock & earthy loaminess.

Plenty of harmony on the finish, where the tannins firm up. Drink now to 2026.

  • Made from fruit sourced from McLaren Vale, Clare Valley and Barossa Valley. The quality of the fruit shines through along with the benefit of 22 months in French and American Oak. Full bodied but not heavy, Dark red through to the edges. Still youthful and a bit closed on opening, probably needs 1-2 hours breathing. Dusty tannins and a nice line of acid. Great mouthfeel and lingering length. This will likely cellar for another decade.

  • Classic shiraz, takes time to open up. Fruit driven.
