San Antonio Wine Geeks do double blind pinots (The Home of Steve Treu): Brilliant crimson color. Ripe cherry, licorice and raspberry nose that gets a little shy with a swirl. Light on the palate, seemingly higher in alcohol than wine #1. Medium finish, and with nice tart cherry note, but doesn’t have the complexity of the other wines in this group. Was thinking more California before more options were offered.

Pinot Noir Tasting in San Antonio (Scenic Loop Cafe Restaurant): My #11, Group #13 First New Mexico wine I have tried. The medium ruby-colored 2004 offers a sweet nose of smoky cherries with notes of pomegranate. Palate has raspberries and plums on a medium bodied finish.

Bright garnet color. Aromas of strawberry sorbet, cotton candy and cherry cola. Clean, light-bodied fruit in the mouth with good balance and structure. Simple and juicy with a tinge of herbs in the finish. Drinkable but a really bad value.
