£6.50?! How?! An insane bargain and I can only imagine that the Society acts as some kind of muse to winemakers and the corporations they represent (in this case the gynormous Concha y Toro). Full, ripe, fruity, with a beautiful sweetness, but given complexity by ripe tannins and a subtle smokiness. Although this does not emulate the harmonious balance of the Medoc, this has so much going on, with a fair degree of restraint, and is therefore quite compelling.
