Nice slightly mystical semisweetish but still fullbodied champ. Suits well with not too sweet desserts like artesanal bourbon vanilla ice cream, maple syrup and hard nougat chocolate.

NobleRottersSydney - mostly Penfolds (Fix, St James, Sydney): {cork, 12.5%} [Greg] Stoney sort of nose. Grapefruit, citrus. Just a little introverted though. The palate is rich, with a nod to light honey in the flavours, but the ‘sec’ hardly translated to obvious sweetness at all. Fine delicate bubbles, medium body, with a brioche tinge to the flavours. Perhaps finishes a touch short of medium length. Quite a crowd-pleaser though.

Chateau Montrose: '78, '96, '05 & Champagne (Paris Dining Club, Mpls, MN): Medium gold color. Just a small taste. Not really my jam. Juicy, very leesy, sweet, rich, ocean finish. Good, but I'd rather go in a different direction with dessert.

Apples, sponge cake batter, smoke, lemon and honey. Much better than expected. Rich but balanced.
